Design and Build

This project was an interesting project for us as it was for clients who were developers and already had an HMO build crew in house.

We were initially brought in for consultancy design both in interior, exterior and lighting design. Working from initial architect plans we worked on an innovative design for this inner-city Manchester terrace as rather than squeezing in the 3rd bedroom in a naturally small family home the brief became to make a luxury 2-bedroom apartment in a terrace house.

Something we have always been interested in doing in an area like Didsbury where the demand could warrant a bold move like this. For your back yard is still going to be bigger than any balcony or roof terrace and there are no additional maintenance fees of a flat to pay.

Also, in this case we converted the basement so the cinema with a fold out couch could double as a guest bedroom, and as such we designated a bathroom with shower to this floor to make that even more plausible as its dual use.

As well as the design we were taken on to help with elements of the project management of the build, then did a lot of the procurement of product through our vast range of design products, and our team did some of the more specialist install and unique decoration where required.

Lighting Design

Here we lit a progressively designed Terrace house in Didsbury, and provided a solution to make the lighting fit the design and the multitude of features we had to illuminate. We used zones of dimming to control feature pendants, LED tape and LED downlights. We are now working on a lighting scheme for their outdoor space.
